HISTORY TAUGHT THROUGH LIVING REENACTMENTS PLAYS AVAILABLE TO SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Dramas created by playwrights and producers from the non-profit theatrical troupe, The Rainbow Repertory Company, have included the history of African Americans, Famous Women, Native Anericans and Noted Ohioans.

Recent Rainbow productions have included conversations between Abraham Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Betty Friedan, Sitting Bull, Jacob Gaskins and Lena Horne. .

Rainbow’s Director Lois DiGiacomo states, “The history of any event or era can best be learned from the people who created and lived through them.   Living history told through drama, the medium that includes all the arts, is never forgotten.   We soon forget what we read in books or learn in lectures or power point presentations, but we can never forget what we see, hear and experience in live drama.”

Production requests to create a reenactment for any historical period or event may be made by calling 330.456.7397.
